    Barcelos Rooster

    The figure of the rooster of Barcelos comes from the interesting popular legend that transports Barcelos to medieval times, and which tells the story of a pilgrim on his way to Santiago de Compostela, who was miraculously saved from the gallows, thanks to Santiago, when a rooster crowed made itself heard in a surprising way.
    It was from the 50s and 60s that the rooster of Barcelos became a symbol of national tourism and an icon of a nation's identity.

    With bright colors, multifaceted in size and shapes, a testament to Portugal's cultural differences and ethnographic variety.
    The image of the rooster of Barcelos is universal and is a symbol of Portuguese identity present in many parts of the world, going beyond the borders of the municipality that gave it its name.

    Because these roosters are so beautiful and symbolic, we warn you that the patterns may change slightly but it is always with the same color pattern.

The design is perfect and the color is spectacular. What really makes it fun is that there is a story behind the piece. I highly recommend this item (even if you aren't Portuguese)!
